Montreal Reportedly The Favourite To Host AEW Redemption This Summer

AEW Redemption could be heading to Canada this summer.
On April 15, All Elite Wrestling filed a trademark for “AEW Redemption”, with Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast later revealing that the filing is for a new pay-per-view event set to take place this year.
Fightful Select are now reporting that Montreal is the heavy favourite to host the event, which is likely to take place in July, with an announcement expected in the coming weeks.
“Fightful Select was informed that there would be a new PPV on the AEW slate this year between Forbidden Door and All In, and eventually it was revealed to be AEW Redemption, likely in July. There’s been heavy speculation about the location of the event. In asking around All Elite Wrestling, Canada was rumored in recent weeks, with Montreal being the heavy favorite based on those that we spoke to. We’ve not confirmed this as of yet, but an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.”

Beyond the initial trademark for the show itself, AEW also filed to trademark “Royal Redemption” on April 25, although it remains unclear how this will be used on screen.
All Elite Wrestling’s next pay-per-view event will be AEW Double or Nothing at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City on May 24. Thus far, just one bout has been made official for the show, with Kazuchika Okada set to defend the AEW International Championship against Konosuke Takeshita.
