The New Day have decided to mutually part ways with WWE.

On April 24, WWE made its latest round of talent releases, but it now appears a second wave of departures may be underway, with eagle-eyed fans noticing several Superstars being moved to the company’s alumni section.

According to Fightful Select and Cory Hays of BodySlam, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, collectively known as The New Day, have mutually decided to part ways with WWE.

“Fightful Select and Cory Hays from Bodyslam have learned that New Day members Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are leaving WWE. Fightful Select was told they mutually decided to part ways.”

Alongside Big E, The New Day have been a featured act on WWE television since 2014 and hold the record for the most WWE-branded tag team championship reigns at 13.

Kingston and Woods had most recently been assigned to WWE Raw as a duo, having turned heel on Big E by removing him from the group in December 2024.

Kofi Kingston’s departure brings an end to his tenure with WWE after just under two decades, with the former The New Day member leaving behind a lengthy list of accolades that includes four reigns as Intercontinental Champion, three as United States Champion, and a run as WWE Champion.

Xavier Woods joined WWE in 2010 following a run in TNA Wrestling as Consequences Creed, with his most notable singles accolade coming in 2021 when he won that year’s King of the Ring tournament.

Elsewhere in the report, Fightful Select and Cory Hayes revealed that Tonga Loa and JC Mateo have both left WWE. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods as soon as we hear more.
