Tonga Loa & JC Mateo Reportedly Depart WWE

Tonga Loa and JC Mateo are no longer with WWE.
On April 24, WWE made its latest round of talent releases, but it now appears a second wave of departures may be underway, with eagle-eyed fans noticing several Superstars being moved to the company’s alumni section.
Fightful Select and Cory Hays of BodySlam are now reporting that Tonga Loa and JC Mateo are leaving WWE.
“We are told JC Mateo and Tanga Loa are also leaving the company.”

At the time of writing, the nature of the pair’s departure from WWE remains unclear, although several talents from the previous batch of exits indicated they had been released by the company.
Tonga Loa made his return to WWE after nearly ten years at Backlash France on May 4, 2024, realigning with his brother and Guerrillas of Destiny tag team partner Tama Tonga under the guidance of Solo Sikoa, and departs the company as a former WWE Tag Team Champion.
One year later, at Backlash in 2025, Jeff Cobb, now known as JC Mateo, made his WWE debut by assisting Jacob Fatu as he retained the WWE United States Championship.
Alongside Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga, the pair were originally known as The Bloodline before rebranding as The MFTs. Last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown saw Talla Tonga return from a spell on the sidelines alongside Solo Sikoa, with the rest of the faction noticeably absent.
Elsewhere within the report, Fightful Select and Cory Hays revealed that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have mutually decided to depart WWE. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Tanga Loa and Jeff Cobb as soon as we hear more.
