Chris Jericho has addressed the rumours of a WWE return from last year.

Having been absent from AEW for over a year after Dynasty 2025, rumours swirled that Chris Jericho could be on his way back to WWE. The longer he was away, the more likely it appeared that he was set to exit All Elite Wrestling, particularly with many believed his deal was up at the end of December. However, the 55-year-old made his stunning return to Dynamite earlier this year, and he’s now discussed whether a move could’ve come to fruition.

Speaking to Ringer Wrestling, Chris Jericho reflected on the speculation he could’ve left AEW last year.

“The interesting thing about fans and having a career where you can watch anything online is that fans in this day and age then form their own opinions. And then it becomes law because the opinions spread. So whatever people believed or didn’t believe, I was not ever a part of any of it. I think the best part was there was so much speculation of, ‘What is he gonna do?’ That either way with the tribalism of wrestling nowadays, there would be people happy about it and not happy about. ‘This is the worst thing ever,’ and, ‘This is the best thing ever.’ — The rumors became facts to the fans. I’ll leave that [whether he spoke with other companies] for another day. I like the idea of the intrigue.”

Y2J made his comeback to AEW on the April 1 edition of Dynamite, opening the show in his hometown of Winnipeg. Immediately, he was confronted by Ricochet, and the former National Champion currently jas an undefeated record against Chris Jericho, including both singles and trios competition.

At Double Or Nothing, Jericho will be one of 14 men competing in Stadium Stampede. With tomorrow’s Dynamite being the last before the upcoming pay-per-view, the Canadian will team with The Young Bucks to take on Ricochet, Mark Davis, and Andrade.
