MJF: Whenever The New Day Can Come Over, They’d Be Incredible Additions To The AEW Roster

MJF wants The New Day in AEW.

On May 2, news broke that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods had left WWE. Having been centrepieces of the company’s tag team division for over 10 years, it’s believed the duo opted to explore their options elsewhere after TKO had reportedly asked to renegotiate their contracts, and they’re now waiting out their 90-day non-compete clauses before they become free agents. With AEW links appearing immediately after their departure, one of their top stars has endorsed New Day possibly becoming ‘All Elite’.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, MJF said that New Day would be incredible additions to the AEW roster as soon as they’re legally allowed to join.

“Whenever they are legally allowed to come over, I think that those are guys that would be incredible additions to the AEW roster. They’re both crazy talented, they’re both massive stars, and they’re both guys that know their worth, which to me is the most impressive thing. No [he wasn’t surprised they left WWE] because if you’re gonna tell guys that they have to take a pay cut, if they know their worth, they’re gonna say no.”

Including all combinations of Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston, The New Day amassed a stunning 13 tag team titles across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. Should they arrive in AEW in a few months time, fans will be hoping to see Kofi and Creed mix it up with the likes of The Young Bucks, FTR, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, and more of the company’s top teams. For now, though, what their future holds remains to be seen.
