Carlito: I Don’t Think Triple H Gets My Character, I’m Glad Judgment Day Came By

Carlito reflects on being in Judgment Day.
During his second run with WWE, Carlito became a member of the Judgment Day, joining the team at a time when he didn’t have a clear direction as a solo competitor. He’d often be seen adding comedic comments to the group’s segments backstage, becoming an overall well-liked part of their presentation, and the the former Intercontinental Champion as now commented on ending up with Judgment Day in 2024.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Carlito discussed feeling as if Triple H doesn’t understand his character, noting he was determined to make anything he was given work.
“Yeah, I don’t know, because I’ve never been Hunter’s favorite. I don’t think he gets Carlito or the character. So it is what it is. But I was gonna make whatever I did work. So Judgment Day came by, and it was fun for me.”

During his second run, Carlito was also part of the LWO. However, after weeks of the group wondering who had attacked Dragon Lee, the 47-year-old’s heel turn was cemented, eventually leading him to the Judgment Day in May 2024.
The star left WWE when his contract expired in June 2025. Since then, Carlito has wrestled for a wide variety of promotions including returning to WWC where he is a former 16-time Universal Heavyweight Champion.
