Keith Lee Was Reportedly Discussed For An AEW Return Months Ago

Keith Lee was reportedly been discussed for an AEW return.
As of writing, it’s been two and a half years since Keith Lee last stepped into the ring, being pulled from an advertised match with Swerve Strickland at Worlds End 2023. At the time, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion cited an injury he’d been working through as the reason he couldn’t compete, though his undisclosed medical issue has continued to sideline him to the present day. With fans still looking for answers with regard to his status, an update has now emerged suggesting AEW have thought about his return.
According to an update from Fightful Select, it’s believed AEW discussed Keith Lee’s return a few months ago.
“Fightful has regularly asked for updates on Keith Lee since his absence started over two and a half years ago, and finally got an update recently. While we can’t guarantee his current physical status, it was confirmed to us by AEW sources that Keith Lee was discussed for a return to AEW programming a number of months ago, that so far hasn’t come to fruition.”

It was noted by Fightful that whatever AEW had discussed for Keith Lee’s return would’ve happened by now should things have gone ahead as intended, with no update on any future plans. For now, Lee’s return to the ring is still up in the air, although he remains under contract with All Elite Wrestling moving forward.
Last year, Keith Lee said via social media that he was ‘quite fine’ and that it wasn’t up to him when it comes to a return, raising further questions about his status. Still, with no current sign of an in-ring return, fans of the star will have to keep their fingers crossed with regard to his future.
