Brian Cage Reveals He Got The Call About His AEW Return The Night Before

Brian Cage opens up on his AEW return.
On May 13, Brian Cage made his return to All Elite Wrestling when he answered Kevin Knight’s open challenge for the AEW TNT Championship on that night’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
Speaking to False Finish in a new interview, Brian Cage revealed that he received the call from All Elite Wrestling to return to the company the night before the appearance took place.
“When I got the call to come back to AEW, it was late Tuesday night. I already had a full schedule and wasn’t even home. I got back, trained legs because I knew I’d be traveling all day Wednesday for Dynamite, prepared everything for the weekend and my commitments, and finished around three in the morning. I got up at 5:40 a.m. to get to the airport and didn’t arrive at the arena for the match with Kevin Knight until around seven that night. I went straight to medical, had to get cleared by the state athletic commission, then receive treatment. I didn’t even see the locker room. I changed right after getting off the treatment table and went straight to Gorilla Position.”

Brian Cage was reported to have torn his quadriceps at an independent event in April 2025, resulting in a lengthy spell on the sidelines before ultimately returning to in-ring action earlier this year.
Since making his return to All Elite Wrestling, Brian Cage has shared the ring with the likes of Rush, Orange Cassidy, and Lio Rush. Most recently, ‘The Machine’ teamed with fellow Don Callis Family member Jake Doyle in tag team action on AEW Collision.
Another potential AEW return could be on the horizon, as reports recently revealed that the company had discussed plans for Keith Lee to return to the AEW TV months ago. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Brian Cage as soon as we hear more.
