AJ Lee Reportedly Not Expected To Return To WWE Imminently

AJ Lee is not expected to return to WWE in the immediate future.

Night One of WrestleMania 42 on April 18 saw AJ Lee drop the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Becky Lynch in what remains her most recent appearance for WWE, and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

During the latest edition of WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, it was reported that AJ Lee is not expected to return to WWE imminently.

“AJ Lee’s not coming back anytime soon.”

WrestleVotes had previously noted a lack of creative plans for AJ Lee in the aftermath of WrestleMania 42, although there was said to be hope internally within WWE that she would return for major events such as SummerSlam.

AJ Lee made her return to WWE in September 2025 after more than a decade away from in-ring action and has since competed in five matches, including making her WarGames debut and adding herself to the lineage of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Whilst it’s unclear when we’ll next see AJ Lee appear on WWE programming, one of her former rivals recently claimed that she never thought she would see the former WWE Divas Champion return to WWE. You can read more about that here.
