Cody Rhodes doesn’t think he’ll be WWE’s QB1 in ten years’ time.

Since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022 after leaving All Elite Wrestling, Cody Rhodes has become one of the company’s top stars. Now in his third reign as Undisputed WWE Champion, he has admitted uncertainty over how long he can continue as WWE’s leading figure in the ring.

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Cody Rhodes said he doesn’t see himself wrestling in 10 years’ time and added that, if he were to sign a new WWE deal, a five-year timeline feels appropriate.

“I do think it does take a toll at a certain point, and I don’t think in 10 years I’ll still be going. I think there’ll be another QB1 of WWE at that point. As far as in-ring competition, and I don’t think that’s breaking news to anyone. Turning 41 in a week and I feel the best I’ve ever felt as an athlete, but I do think in 10 years, I will no longer be wrestling bell-to-bell. I think five years would be a… five years sounds good. If I was to sign a new contract, maybe it would be for five years.”

The June 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw Cody Rhodes defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against GUNTHER, with Sami Zayn serving as the special guest referee. After a fast count led to Rhodes retaining, the champion demanded a fair rematch, only for Zayn to interfere and cause a disqualification.

Following the aforementioned shenanigans, Cody Rhodes is now set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against both GUNTHER and Sami Zayn at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, June 27.
