Royce Keys On His WWE Run: It’s Exceeded My Expectations

Royce Keys’ WWE run has exceeded his expectations.
Back in January, rumours began to emerge that the star then known as ‘Powerhouse Hobbs’ would be leaving AEW, with 41-year-old moving to WWE immediately upon the expiration of his contract. Having debuted in the 2026 Royal Rumble, Royce Keys is currently around six months into his time with WWE, and the former AEW TNT Champion has now reflected on what his run has been like so far.
Speaking with WhittyWhittier, Keys revealed his WWE run has exceeded expectations.
“It’s exceeded my expectations. It’s been wild just from the moment I put pen to paper and I knew I was coming, to everything that just recently happened. There’s points where before I have my music hit and I’m going out, I just feel like everything is in slow motion. Like I’m in this dream I’m not waking up from, so everything has been really great. I’ve been put in some great positions and knocked it out of the park, so that’s what I’m gonna continue to do.”

After appearing in the Royal Rumble, Keys had to wait until April 10 to make his televised debut, although he did appear in front of a live crowd most weeks in dark matches. The week after his first televised appearance, the star etched his name on the list of Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal winners, defeating 25 other men to win the trophy.
Most recently, he competed in the first round of the King Of The Ring, coming a month after he had a number one contenders match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
