Rhea Ripley had discussed her current meniscus injury.

As of writing, Rhea Ripley hasn’t competed since a WWE live event which took place in Portugal on June 3. Days earlier, the Women’s Champion sustained a knee injury during her Clash In Paris title defence against Jade Cargill, with reports indicating shortly afterwards that she could be out for a significant period of time. Now, Ripley herself has discussed her injury status.

Speaking to Nina Drama at the recent Power Slap event, Rhea Ripley confirmed she has a slight tear in her meniscus, noting she doesn’t yet have a timeline for her return.

“I hurt my knee. I got a slight tear in my mensiscus, so it’s healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. I just can’t bend it very well. Kind of need to bend, guys. I don’t know [the timeline for a return]. I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of a little bit up in the air with just how fast my body recovers. But I’ve been out for probably about a month now. I think it’s been a month and one week. It feels better. It still starts to hurt and throb, it gets tired. I can’t get up or bend down really, or kind of move side to side while crouching.”

Ripley remains the WWE Women’s Champion having won the title back at WrestleMania. At present, there’s no indication that the company are looking to vacate the gold in light of her current injury, although the situation may well be one to keep an eye on the longer ‘The Eradicator’ is away from our screens.

While Ripley is now set to miss SummerSlam, a recent report indicated the two opponents discussed potentially to challenge for the Women’s Championship on WWE’s next Premium Live Event. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Rhea Ripley’s WWE injury status as soon as we hear more.
