Jim Ross thinks it’s too early for Kenny Omega to lose the AEW World Championship at All In.

On this past Wednesday’s Dynamite, Kenny Omega defeated MJF to begin his second reign as AEW World Champion. As a result, the Canadian is currently slated to put the title on the line against Will Ospreay at All In. With it being at Wembley Stadium, many expect ‘The Aerial Assassin’ to reach the top of the mountain in front of his countryman, however, Jim Ross has now expressed his desire to see Omega’s reign go on past this August’s Wembley spectacle.

Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross reveals that he hopes Kenny Omega gets a long, productive reign as AEW World Champion.

“I congratulate Kenny Omega. I consider him a good friend. He’s one of the few guys that keeps in touch with me during my convalescence. So he’ll do a great job. His TV matches on Dynamite or Collision will be epic. He pushes himself hard. He believes in his own abilities, and I don’t know anybody in the wrestling business. on any side of the fence, that is a better in-ring performer than Kenny Omega. I really don’t. There’s some good ones, no doubt, but I don’t know if there’s anyone in the business today that performs at a higher level consistently than Kenny Omega. AEW is lucky to have him, no doubt about it. I hope it’s [All In] not a passing of the torch. It’s a little early for that. For me, I’d like to see Kenny get a fair, long, productive run. But I don’t know what Tony Khan’s plans are.”

Omega and Ospreay are currently one win apiece in singles matches in major promotions. First, the Canadian star earned a victory in the Tokyo Dome when they met over the IWGP United States Championship, but the Brit was able to even the score and take the title when the pair had their rematch on Canadian soil at Forbidden Door 2023. If the Wembley match stays as it is, All In: London will provide a fitting backdrop to their third encounter after previously wrestling both on neutral ground and in Omega’s home country.

Initially, most fans were surprised to see Omega’s title win come on an episode of Dynamite instead of the upcoming ‘Redemption’ pay-per-view. However, a recent report has revealed more on why the bout was moved forward. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the reaction to Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship win as soon as we hear more.
