Chris Jericho: I Think People Will Be Sad When I’m Done Wrestling

Chris Jericho says wrestling fans will miss him when he’s gone.
At present, Chris Jericho is over 35 years into his professional wrestling career, with the key to his longevity often being his ability to reinvent himself. However, prior to his recent AEW absence, crowds had began to tire of Jericho’s ‘Learning Tree’ character, and a growing portion of AEW’s fanbase wanted to see the 55-year-old take a step back from appearing on Dynamite each week. Now, the star has given his take on how people will react once he’s retired.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Jericho expressed his view that people will miss him once he leaves pro wrestling.
“I think it’s like a great rock and roll band, you know? I mean, the Rolling Stones just put out a new album, and it’s amazing, but the Stones have been 60 years and some of the eras you like, some of the eras you hate, some of the eras you wish they would have gone away, and some of the eras you wish they would have done more, and you’re still glad that they’re here. I think when I’m done, people will be sad that I’m not around anymore.”

Chris Jericho remains one of the most legendary names in wrestling history, having been an icon in WWE before helping to establish AEW. Plus, ‘Y2J’ has had memorable runs in both WCW and NJPW across his career. Having returned to Dynamite in April, the star is showing no sign of winding down.
Most recently, Jericho took on his current rival Tommaso Ciampa at AEW’s ‘Beach Break’. On the night, it was ‘The Psycho Killer’ who had his hand raised, although he took advantage of the creative set by using sand to help him secure the win, suggesting things may not be over between them moving forward.
