Tony Khan Welcomes Competition As AEW All Out Goes Head-to-Head With AAA Worlds Collide

Tony Khan isn’t surprised by AAA and WWE’s decision to counterprogramme AEW All Out.

All Elite Wrestling is set to present its eighth annual All Out pay-per-view this September in Chicago, Illinois. The event has long been associated with the city, with five of the previous seven editions taking place there. Recently, WWE-owned AAA announced that its Worlds Collide event will also be held in Chicago on the same day. Despite the scheduling clash, AEW President Tony Khan appears unfazed by the decision.

Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Khan said that competition is simply part of the wrestling business and admitted the announcement did not come as a surprise to him.

“It’s the reality of current wrestling. It’s the frankly predatory nature of scheduling of events, but also the compliment that says that AEW is doing very well. Chicago’s a great city for wrestling. I’m very excited about AEW All Out, and it’s not something unexpected to have competition. And I do welcome it.”

Taking place on September 26 at the NOW Arena, All Out will be AEW’s first pay-per-view following All In: London. The Wembley Stadium event is currently scheduled to be headlined by Will Ospreay challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship, although that may change should Kevin Knight dethrone Omega at AEW Redemption on July 26.

WWE completed its acquisition of AAA in April 2025, with WWE star Dominik Mysterio currently reigning as AAA Mega Champion. WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker also plays a key role in the promotion’s creative direction, while Rey Mysterio serves as AAA’s General Manager.
