Dax Harwood Honors Anniversary Of 2/3 Falls Match With The Briscoes

Dax Harwood reflected on his iconic 2 out of 3 Falls match with The Briscoes from four years ago.
On July 23, 2022, FTR and The Briscoes met for the second time, around three months after Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler captured the ROH World Tag Team Championships in their first encounter. Now, exactly four years on from their 2 out of 3 falls match at Death Before Dishonor, Harwood has reflected on battling Mark and Jay Briscoe in Lowell, Massachusetts.
On his Instagram, Dax Harwood shared a message alongside photos and clips from the legendary tag team title match with The Briscoes four years ago. Harwood revealed that both FTR and The Briscoes were unsure how the 45-minute bout would unfold, with some tequila helping ease the nerves before the match.
Many in the wrestling world consider FTR vs. The Briscoes to be one of the greatest trilogies in wrestling history, with their three matches leaving a lasting impact on the industry. Harwood noted that each encounter brought something different, which was something he loved considering before stepping into each bout.
The final match in the trilogy took place at ROH Final Battle that December in a Double Dog Collar Match. Tragically, Jay Briscoe passed away on January 17, 2023, shortly after the bout. His brother Mark remains part of the AEW/ROH roster and continues to honour Jay, including still making his entrance to their iconic tag team theme song.
FTR are currently on an intentional break from in-ring action following their loss of the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at Double or Nothing. With the duo previously noting that they are on their final contracts, their eventual return to AEW could mark the beginning of their last full-time run as wrestlers.
