Becky Lynch Told Seth Rollins Not To Wear His Gear For Money In The Bank Cash-In
Becky Lynch was central to a key detail of the Seth Rollins’ cash-in last year.
At Night 1 of Summerslam 2025, Seth Rollins shockingly cashed-in his Money in the Bank briefcase to become World Heavyweight Champion by defeating CM Punk. Whilst an impromptu cash-in isn’t too out of the ordinary, it was the nature of Rollins’ that created buzz. Following a match with LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event on 12th July, Rollins had seemingly injured his knee and been off TV. This was until Summerslam, where Rollins would enter in street clothes with crutches only to drop them and reveal he was cleared to wrestle, catching Punk off guard to become a six-time world champion in the company. Rollins recently revealed that his wife, Becky Lynch, provided one of the more important ideas for this exciting moment.
Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Lynch explained the stance she brought to the idea.
“I was a staunch believer that you shouldn’t be in your gear. They wanted you in your gear and I was like, ‘He can’t be in his gear.”

Rollins then added to how “The Man” contributed to the cash-in.
“The initial was, ‘Oh, you’re coming out because you’re cashing-in, you know. You have to be in your gear because it’s gonna be a match.’ And she was like, ‘Absolutely not. If you’re in your gear, then they know. It’s a dead giveaway. Don’t do it.’ I didn’t know. Always listen to The Man.”

Lynch is a seven-time world champion in her own right, as well as being a three-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion. The pair of WWE stars have been married since 2021 and have worked alongside one another on WWE TV on multiple occasions, most recently at Wrestlepalooza 2025 where the couple teamed to face CM Punk & AJ Lee.
After his cash-in on the first night of SummerSlam 2025, Rollins will feature in the night two main event of this year’s show. Recently, “The Visionary” firmly stated that the closing match of night two is what wrestlers aim for on two-night Premium Live Events. You can read more on his comments here.
