Seth Rollins Says The Night Two Main Event Is The Marquee Match Of WWE’s Two-Night Shows

Seth Rollins thinks the night two main event is the marquee match for wrestlers to aim for.

In 2020, WWE made the switch to two-night WrestleManias, with this becoming the new normal across the last six years. Then, last year, SummerSlam joined “The Show Of Shows” as a two-night PLE, something which is set to happen again next weekend. This has brought about semi-regular debate online about whether the night one closing match counts as a true main event. Now, Seth Rollins has revealed his view that it’s the second night that’s most important.

Speaking with Busted Open Radio, Seth Rollins said the night two main event is the marquee match of the two night PLEs.

“I think all of us want to be at the top, and the top is the match that goes on last. I don’t care what anybody says. I know there’s a lot of conversation about the WrestleMania main events now there’s two nights, but I’m of the feeling that Night Two, the last match that goes on, is the money draw. That’s the marquee match. That’s the business that I got into, so I’m always, always wanting to close the show”

Seth Rollins also spoke on potentially missing his chance to main event the second night of WrestleMania 42, held back in April in Las Vegas on a recent episode of Season 3 of WWE Unreal on Netflix. This was due to an unfortunate shoulder injury he suffered in a match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel in October 2025.

Rollins would return in time for WrestleMania season but was thrust into a match with Gunther on night one, while the night two main event was Roman Reigns defeating CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in one of the best bouts in WWE so far this year.

Rollins, who is now set to main event Night two of this year’s SummerSlam against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, looks to make up for the possible missed opportunity earlier in the year on August 2. Interestingly, it’ll be the former Vision leader’s first SummerSlam main event since 2019.
