Dustin Rhodes Issues Apology For Responding To Islamophobic Tweet, Says He Is Quitting X

Dustin Rhodes issued an apology for responding with to an Islamophobic tweet on X.
On August 18, 2026, Dustin Rhodes came under scrutiny after appearing to show support for an Islamophobic post on social media. Rhodes responded to an image of a woman carrying a firearm alongside the caption, “Hey ISLAM, come at take it, I dare ya,” with a comment of his own. His response was later highlighted by professional wrestler Mustafa Ali, who criticised Rhodes for appearing to support the post.
Soon after, Rhodes took to X/Twitter to apologise to everyone, including Ali. Rhodes explained that he had not read the caption and had only liked the post because he supported its message regarding firearm protection.
In a series of tweets following the incident, Rhodes said he was considering stepping away from X/Twitter due to the mixed reactions surrounding the situation. Ali, meanwhile, wished Rhodes well and urged him to be more careful and consider the content of future posts before commenting, noting that normalising such rhetoric could be dangerous for those targeted by messages like the one that sparked the controversy.
Ali is currently scheduled to compete this Sunday at TNA Lockdown in a Steel Cage match, where he will look to regain the TNA International Championship from Jason Hotch. The former member of Order 4 earned his title opportunity after winning a fan vote to determine the number one contender before defeating Ali on the July 30 episode of TNA Impact!.
