Crown Jewel Location Reportedly Discussed Within WWE After Recent Travel Advisory
Crown Jewel in Riyadh is scheduled for November 7, but whether it goes off as planned is up in the air.
WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia, dating back to 2018, is now over eight years into its initial 10-year partnership with the country. They’ve hosted multiple Premium Live Evenys there, including this year’s Royal Rumble, and soon, they’ll be back for the next Crown Jewel event. However, things may not go as planned based on a new warning from the US government.

“On Tuesday, September 15, the US Department Of State listed Saudi Arabia as a level three, urging citizens to reconsider travel. Some areas of the country are listed as a level four, explicitly telling residents to not travel to that area. WrestleVotes Radio spoke to a source about whether WWE will consider altering plans for its upcoming Crown Jewel event on November 7. While our source made it clear that a decision of that magnitude is well above their pay grade, they did note that the situation is a topic of discussion within the walls of WWE. That said, the source confirmed that the November 7 date is expected to remain in place and the event is expected to take place regardless of location, as WWE is committed to ESPN for that date. The day appears to be set, the real question now is whether WWE can still send its talent and personnel to Saudi Arabia on November 7 given the current travel advisory.”

Of course, it’s worth noting that a lot can happen between now and November 7, although this isn’t the first time the statue of a Saudi Arabian WWE event has been called into question, with the company having travelled there for “Night Of Champions” back in June after some deliberation.
In terms of future shows, WWE is set to hold WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia next year, although no date has been given for the event as yet. With “The Show Of Shows” heading overseas for the first time, particularly to Saudi Arabia, many are expecting the company to pull out all the stops with regard to big matches and special appearances.
