Tony Khan Says It’s Possible Will Ospreay Could Defend The AEW World Title In NJPW

Will Ospreay could defend the AEW World Championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

On August 30, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to win the AEW World Championship, becoming the first British wrestler to win a world championship on British soil. However, before he reached the mountaintop in All Elite Wrestling, Ospreay was an incredibly key part of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and it now seems as if a big return to the promotion could possibly come down the road.

When asked at the All Out Media Scrum if there was a possibility Will Ospreay could defend the AEW World Championship in NJPW, Tony khan gave view view that a title match in New Japan is “absolutely” a possibility.

At present, the AEW World Championship has never been defended in NJPW, and, having originally made his name in the company, Will Ospreay would the perfect first AEW champion to defend the championship in a NJPW ring. For now, though, it remains to be seen who Ospreay would be defending against on the NJPW roster or when this match will take place.
