Tetsuya Naito vs. OZAWA Confirmed For NOAH Wrestle Odyssey II

A huge GHC Heavyweight Championship match is set for Wrestle Odyssey II.

Following his victory in the end of the N-1 Victory, former GHC Heavyweight Champion OZAWA earned a chance to regain his title on October 25th when he challenges Tetsuya Naito at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Wrestle Odyssey II on October 25.

OZAWA earned this opportunity after he defeated Kaito Kiyomiya to win his first ever N-1 Victory trophy, thus becoming the number contender for the GHC belt. Naito comes in as the reigning GHC Heavyweight Champion, having earned the title by defeating Shane Haste on August 9. This match will be his first defense.

The card for NOAH Wrestle Odyssey II so far features seven matches. Kai Fujimura will defend his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship against Dragon Bane. HAYATA will defend his GHC200 Belt against Shuji Kondo. Then, Jun Masaoka and YO-HEY from Team 2000X will attempt their first defense of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles against Alejandro and Daiki Odashima.

Manabu Soya and Yuki Iino from the Passionate RATEL’S will attempt their third defense of the GHC Tag Team Titles against former GHC Heavyweight Champion Shane Haste, and his longtime TMDK tag team partner, the returning Mikey Nicholls. Kenoh and Kouga will team up to take on Kaito Kiyomiya and Yoshiki Inamura in a tag team clash. Plus, Naomichi Marufuji will defend his GHC National Championship against the unknown “Mysterious Phantom Invader” in what will be his fifth defence.

This event will stream on both Abema TV and Wrestle Universe under their pay-per-view format. The show will be streamed with Japanese and English commentary options.

Elsewhere in NOAH, the promotion has announced the lineup for the Jr. Grand Prix 2 which begins next month. You can read more about that here.
