Natsupoi will look to become High Speed Champion on October 11.

Even though she is planning to retire in January, that doesn’t mean that Natsupoi is willing to coast into her final months in the squared circle. On October 4, STARDOM’s High Speed Champion, Yuna Mizumori, challenged the High Speed Fairy to a match for her title. The match was confirmed for STARDOM’s upcoming Korakuen Hall show on October 11.

The two Cosmic Angels have competed in three singles contests as of writing, with the match in five days almost certainly being their final one-on-one meeting. Natsupoi has won every one of her matches against Yuna so far, with her last victory over her coming back in September of 2023.

Even so, Mizumori has been on an absolute tear since her last defeat against Natsupoi. She’s had 17 singles clashes since that day, with the first being her High Speed Championship win over Mei Seira, who had previously held the belt for 514 days and earned nine successful defenses. Of her previous 17 matches, she holds wins over the likes of Seira, Xena, Koguma, and Hanan.

On the other hand, Natsupoi started to flounder in singles competition since her win over Yunamon, holding a 5-4 record in STARDOM since that day. However, she has notched three straight singles wins, including over Anne Kanaya and Saori Anou. Outside of STARDOM, she has beaten the likes of Kaoru Ito twice, Johnnie Robbie, and Mayumi Ozaki.

Suffice to say that both women can use the victory here. If Natsupoi is able to win, her retirement road completely changes. Every single one of her final singles matches will have an added level of intensity, because who knows if anyone on STARDOM’s roster could take that belt off her hands. Poi previously held the High Speed Championship way back in 2021, where she held defenses over both AZM and Starlight Kid, both of whom could once again wrestle in the division that made them famous to begin with.

If Yunamon is able to beat Natsupoi, this would be a big boost for her not only in this title reign, but as a wrestler in general. She initially won the belt off Seira back on Christmas Eve last year and has since defended it against Yuuki Mashiro, Momo Kohgo, Rian, Xena, and had a time limit draw against Koguma, the only woman on her résumé who has been champion before. A win over Poi would give her the biggest defense of her reign so far by a long distance. It could certainly give her reign a boost.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Yuna Mizumori’s upcoming title defence against Natsupoi as soon as we hear more.
