LA Knight Says He Knows Many Don’t Believe He’ll Beat Roman Reigns At Money In The Bank

LA Knight knows fans aren’t expecting him to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Tonight, Money in the Bank will open with Roman Reigns looking to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight. “The Megastar” has been a fan favourite since 2023, though he’s still yet to win a world title in WWE. Nevertheless, it’s fair to say the majority of viewers will come into the show expecting “The OTC” to retain, and this is something Knight himself has addressed.
Speaking to MetroUK that he knows fans aren’t believing he’ll win.
“There’s been so much time where it’s just like, it seems like the carrot’s been dangled in front of them. Look, I’m not deaf. It’s definitely not as big as it was when the hope was at its highest… But you can tell it’s still there. The people still want it. I’m just not sure that they entirely believe it right now, and I get that.”

As of writing, Reigns has been World Heavyweight Champion for 174 days, having defeated CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. So far this reign, he’s overcome the likes of Jacob Fatu, Seth Rollins, and Penta, though the feeling of inevitability around his title defences likely stems from his four-year run as Universal Champion in which fans saw a myriad of popular challengers fall by the wayside.
Knight himself has previous experience with trying to dethrone Reigns, as the two met one on one at Crown Jewel 2023, before he was one of three challengers who took on “The Tribal Chief” at the Royal Rumble PLE in 2024. Still, despite his popularity, the former United States Champion is yet to reach the top of the mountain, and his fans will be keeping their fingers crossed tonight will be his night.
