Van Vert Jack Beats Naruki Doi, Wins Tenkaichi Junior Tournament

Van Vert Jack has won the Tenkaichi Junior Tournament.
In the final of the Tenkaichi Junior Tournament on Saturday, Van Vert Jack upset Naruki Doi after he hit a tremendous Shooting Star Press in 18:22. At 21, he is the now the youngest to ever win this tournament since its creation in 2002.
Van Vert Jack certainly had to earn every bit of this tournament triumph. After he earned a first round bye, Jack defeated the former forever BJW Junior Heavyweight Champion, Kosuke Sato in the quarterfinals and his fellow International Lightweight Tag Champion, Yuki Toki, in the semi-finals leading up to his matchup with the veteran Doi. While he’s been wrestling since he was a child back in the early 2010s, it’s safe to say that this is his biggest singles victory of his career so far.
After he won, Jack talked about how he has two wishes moving forward. He said first that he wanted to wrestle his luchador inspiration, Psycho Clown, who currently competes in AAA and is signed to WWE, and he would like to wrestle ZERO1’s Hayabusa as his alter ego, Jack THE RESPECT Hayabusa.
While it’s not clear the possibility of his first wish, it’s safe to say that a singles match with Hayabusa could very well happen in the future.
After he mentioned his wishes, he turned back to Doi and offered him a match for his tag team titles. He told Doi to pick a tag team partner and prepare for their upcoming match which has been confirmed for November 7. Doi would go on to pick Takuya Sugawara.
