Sakura Mizushima will soon leave Actwres Girl’Z.

Two-time Actwres Girl’Z KING of Ring Entertainment Champion, Sakura Mizushima, announced today that she intends to graduate from the promotion she’s called home since she made her pro wrestling debut in 2022 and go freelance starting in 2027. Mizushima made her announcement after her tag team clash during AWG’s “Step 84” event in Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

She made her debut back on October 17, 2022, almost four years ago. Over her four years with AWG, Mizushima has gradually progressed into one of the best wrestlers on the roster. Not only that, but she swiftly became one of the most pushed.

In singles matches over her career in AWG, she boasts a 22-12 record, good for a 64.7% win rate. Of those 22 wins, she sports victories over some of AWG’s biggest stars this era, including Kanamic (now known as Miku Kanae on the indies), Mari, and Nagisa Shiotsuki.

She’s the only two-time holder of AWG’s chief secondary belt, the KING of Ring Entertainment Title, and also holds subsequent records for the most days (234) and defenses (six) in the belt’s short history. She’s also competed in matches for both the AWG Championship and the AWG Tag Team Championships as well, both of which she lost.

Actwres Girl’Z lives somewhat on the fringes of the Joshi scene because they often differentiate themselves from the other companies as more of an entertainment product than purely a pro wrestling company. However, if you simply look at the alumni Mizushima will soon follow in 2027, you’ll see the amazing crop of talent that have come through their doors. Tam Nakano, Natsupoi, Ami Sourei, Miku Kanae, and Misa Matsui are only a few of the talents who have made careers in this business after leaving the promotion. While it’s far too early to map out where Mizushima will end up and how she’ll fare, if precedent is anything to go off, then it should stand to reason that she could be one to watch as a breakout in the Joshi scene in 2027.
