Open The Brave Gate Champion To Be Decided In Tournament

A new Open the Brave Gate Champion will be decided next month.
Dragongate announced on their social media today that the Open the Brave Gate Championship will be determined with a five-man tournament culminating in a final match during DG’s upcoming November Korakuen Hall show on November 5.
The tournament will begin on October 18 when they will have Homare take on Kagetora during the first show of the day at the Acros Fukuoka, and then the evening show will see JACKY KAMEI take on GuC.
The winners of those first two matches will battle in the Kyoto KBS Hall on October 24. However the winner of that match won’t be done, because he will then have to take on Dragon Kid in Korakuen Hall on November 15.
This reason all of this is happening in the first place is because the Open the Brave Gate was vacated after ISHIN helped Ryu Fuda beat Dragon Kid for the belt back on September 20. GM Ryo Saito then came out and stripped Fuda and nullified his reign. Putting Kid in the finals can be seen as a show of goodwill to the legend as he lost his belt in a nefarious way.
Dragon Kid initially won the Brave Gate on September 12 after beating Ryoya Tanaka, who himself had a legendary reign that lasted 426 days. His reign was the second longest of all time, behind the late great PAC, and it featured a record 12 defenses.
