Two injured AEW wrestlers might be close to coming back.

Like any wrestling promotion, injuries happen, and that means you have to adapt when a wrestler suddenly goes out for a stretch of time. In the case of Steven Borden and Penelope Ford, they were both injured in matches. Borden was hurt during a tag team match at AEW All Out, and Ford was injured during a women’s tag team title match on Collision some time back. However, it seems they could be readying for a return.

According to PWInsider, both Borden and Ford were backstage for Dynamite in Cleveland this past Wednesday.

While that doesn’t reveal when the two could return to the ring, and TV, it is a positive sign. Ford was in a tag team with Megan Bayne before getting injured, which facilitated Lena Kross coming in to create Divine Dominion and winning the AEW Women’s World Championships not long after.

Many fans are hopeful Ford will able to have a more prolonged in-ring stint upon her return, perhaps picking up where she left off with Bayne and Kross. She’s suffered many injuries during her AEW tenure, and she’ll be desperate to show her ability after her setbacks.

As for Borden, he’s still in the early stages of his wrestling career, and All Out was his first pay-per-view match. Thankfully, on the following AEW Collision, Darby Allin revealed that Borden wasn’t done with the wrestling industry and would be back, and his being at Dynamite helps reaffirm that.

After his in-ring injury, the match was stopped, and Borden was taken to the hospital, and it was recently revealed one of his opponents at All Out spent the night by his side. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on both Steven Borden and Penelope Ford as soon as we hear more.
