Kevin Knight was with Steven Borden at the hospital after the latter was injured during their match.

Injuries happen in wrestling, but the one that happened at All Out to Steven Borden stunned those in attendance. During a tag team match, Borden and Kevin Knight attempted to meet in midair with a springboard clothesline, but things went awry, knocking Borden out and bringing the match to a premature end. Understandably, this caused major concern both in the building and online, with Tony Schiavone later reassuring fans with the news Borden was awake and aware of what happened in hospital. Now, Kevin Knight has reflected visiting his opponent the night of his injury.

During a chat with Clutch Points, Knight revealed how he went to check on Borden after he was taken to the hospital.

“As a human, it was just checking on him, making sure he’s okay. Obviously, you never want things like that to happen in your own match, especially when you’re involved with it. So it was just making sure that he’s okay. You know, I spent the night at the hospital with him. He was perfectly fine. It was just a scary bump, a scary risk. But yeah, it was not an ideal situation. But we’re gonna bounce back from it, and you know I’m excited to see what Steve has to offer more, you know, come into the future. Pretty sure he’s gonna bounce back. We talked about it and everything. We walked it through. But, just like I said, just with anything, stepping through the ropes, walking on the stairs, hitting the ropes, taking any kind of bump, you’re risking your life anytime you’re doing any of those things. So it was just a freak accident, and Steve is a trooper, so I’m sure he’ll come back better than ever.”

Borden’s trainer and tag team partner, Darby Allin, confirmed during an AEW Dynamite that Steven would return to wrestling, which showed that he wasn’t deterred by what happened to him in the match.

When he’ll come back is unknown, but given what happened, AEW head Tony Khan will likely want to ensure that Borden is 100%, and fully knows what he can and can’t do in the ring at this stage of his career to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again.
