Homare Earns Shot At Open The Brave Gate Championship Against Dragon Kid

Dragon Kid’s next challenger is set.
Homare defeated GuC on Saturday to earn a shot at the vacated Open the Brave Gate Championship on November 5 against Dragon Kid. The XENOSTAL NOVA lieutenant defeated GuC with a Super Kick at the 10:26 mark to earn the shot.
This will be the third time the 22-year-old will have a shot at the belt and the second in a match where the belt is vacated. The last time he went for the title was back at DG’s biggest show of the year, Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival, back in July against his future faction partner Ryoya Tanaka.
The man he will take on, Dragon Kid, needs no introduction. There are few men in DG history who are attached to the history of the Brave Gate than the heir to the Dragon name. Over his five reigns with the belt, Kid has held the title for a combined 741 days and 13 defenses. All three of those stats are second most, all behind Masato Yoshino.
His last reign began last month after he ended Tanaka’s legendary 427-day reign where he broke the single reign defense record. The belt would be vacated after Ryu Fuda cheated to beat Kid a week after Kid beat Tanaka.
Whoever will win this upcoming match on November 5 will become the 58th champion.
In other Dragongate news, the next Open The Triangle Gate Championship defence is set. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Homare challenging for the Open the Brave Gate Championship as soon as we hear more.
