NXT Announces John Cena And Cody Rhodes For November 4 Show

Two major names will be on NXT next week.

This coming Monday, November 2, John Cena will return to WWE RAW to make an announcement. However, on last night’s NXT, it was revealed that the red brand wouldn’t be his only stop next week, as the 17-time world champion was announced for the same week’s episode of NXT. Alongside that, fans can expect to see “The American Nightmare” appear to present the winners of the Dusty Cup with their trophy.

What’s notable is that, due, to the midterm elections happening next Tuesday and the news coverage that could preempt NXT on the CW, the show has been moved to Wednesday, November 4, instead of its usual Tuesday spot. That means for the second time in a month, AEW and NXT will be going up against one another. With previous reports suggesting WWE are keen to “load up” the show, some viewers may see Rhodes and Cena as another counterprogramming measure against their rival, though both men have logical reasons to be part of the show.

As mentioned, Rhodes’ involvement will tie into the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in honour of his father, while Cena’s appearance likely relates to the John Cena Classic, coming before the end of the year. With the star making an announcement on RAW and following it up on NXT, many are connecting the dots that the Cena could be there to scout, or even announce, which future stars will be part of the tournament. Still, Rhodes and Cena will likely provide a boost as the show moves to a different night.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the November 4 episode of NXT as soon as we hear more.
