Crown Jewel To Be Moved To New Venue, Will Reportedly Remain In Riyadh

Crown Jewel has finally announced a move to a new location, but not in the way many expected.

For the last few weeks, there have been questions over the status of WWE Crown Jewel, which is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After the recent attacks in the region, many were hopeful WWE would move the show to another location away from any uncertainty, though there hadn’t previously been any movement on that front. Today, a change in venue was confirmed, but not in the way a lot of viewers expected as the official Riyadh Season X account announced a new venue would host Crown Jewel and that refunds will be issued soon.

At first, this led many to assume the show would be moved stateside, with a backup location potentially used instead. However, according to an update from, Fightful Select its believed the new venue will still be in Riyadh, while WWE HQ reportedly had no idea about this move until the announcement.

“Riyadh Season has revealed that the WWE Crown Jewel show will be moving venues. However, those working on site tell Fightful it is expected to remain in Riyadh. We’re told by sources at WWE HQ they learned about the move when the Riyadh Season tweet came out.”

As long as the event remains in Riyadh, concern over its safety is unlikely to diminish. With the US Government recently urging “extreme caution” when travelling to the country’s airports. With this being the only alteration made to its location, it now feels likely no further changes will come before Crown Jewel comes round. Of course, though, given the nature of the situation, nothing can be said for certain until the show is underway.

Wherever the show takes place, fans can look forward to Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn, Chelsea Green vs. Liv Morgan, and a last man standing match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
