The United Empire is going to war with itself, but Will Ospreay wants a clean fight against Callum Newman.

At New Japan’s Power Struggle, Will Ospreay teamed up with Callum Newman in an attempt to win the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. However, Newman ended the match by getting intentionally DQ’d, leading to the two United Empire men coming to blows. Right after, he challenged Ospreay to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 21. A match he dubbed “The Prince vs. The King”.

On his X account, Ospreay accepted the match, but also spoke his mind as to how he feels about the match and how he wants it to go down.

The idea of seconds is a popular one in New Japan, and it was the same principle that he and Kenny Omega used when they had their match at All In: London in August. However, with Newman showing he’s more than happy to accept outside interference from his stablemate, whether Ospreay will get his wish remains to be seen.

With this being one of many AEW vs. NJPW matchups already set for Wrestle Kingdom 21, which company comes out on top overall will be a point of interest among fans. Plus, at Power Struggle, Kenny Omega earned a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, giving the AEW star the chance to capture the title for the first time in eight years. You can read more about that here.

On top of that, the Death Riders’ Gabe Kidd and Jon Moxley both got their individual Wrestle Kingdom matches set up on November 3’s show. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Will Ospreay vs. Callum Newman as soon as we hear more.
