The Death Riders are taking their moniker of “Against The World” to Wrestle Kingdom 21.

Over in All Elite Wrestling, the Death Riders are one of the most over babyface groups in the company. However, in New Japan, they’re still very much heels. At NJPW’s Power Struggle, Jon Moxley teamed up with Wheeler Yuta to face Shingo Takagi and Jeff Cobb in a match which saw the AEW talent fall to their Unbound Co. opponents.

After Takagi and Cobb got the win, Shingo called out Jon Moxley for a match at Wrestle Kingdom. Then, in the main event, Gabe Kidd defended his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Taichi, and after a brutal match, was able to secure the win.

Taking the mic, he called out New Japan President Hiroshi Tanahashi and beat him down in the ring, declaring it was “Death Riders vs. New Japan” before going backstage and making his own declaration of who he wants to fight at Wrestle Kingdom, laying out the challenge to Yuya Uemura.

With these two matches declared, the Wrestle Kingdom card is now stacked with bouts featuring All Elite Wrestling talents going up against New Japan’s roster. Kenny Omega will fight Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Callum Newman will face Will Ospreay, and MJF will face Ryohei Oiwa. That’s five matches total, and there are teases that more could be added to the card.

On that note, Mercedes Moné recently took to social media to register her interest in becoming the latest AEW star to book a spot on the Wrestle Kingdom 21 card. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AEW’s involvement at Wrestle Kingdom 21 as soon as we hear more.
