With WWE’s first UK stadium show since SummerSlam 1992 just a little over five weeks away, it appears as though we now know what will be main eventing the history premium live event, following a new report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meltzer states that the current plan is for the show to he headlined by Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, with the Tribal Chief defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against the Scottish Warrior infront of what is likely to be an electric UK crowd.
“The main event for Clash at the Castle in Cardiff is expected to be Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre. The winner of Reigns vs. Lesnar faces the winner of the McIntyre vs. Sheamus Irish Doneybrook (no DQ, no count out) match on the 7/29 Smackdown show in Atlanta. As noted months ago, when the long-term plans, which always change, were made, it was Reigns vs. McIntyre as the headline bout which is why the two have not met this year on a PPV show. “

Reigns is set to take on Brock Lesnar this Saturday at SummerSlam in a Last Man Standing match for the gold, and with the additional threat of Theory’s Money in the Bank briefcase looming above him, it certainly won’t be an easy road to Wales for the Head of the Table, although it seems increasingly likely that he’ll at least make it to Cardiff with his championship reign in tact.
