A week ago today, PWInsider reported that Gabe Sapolsky has returned to WWE in a creative capacity following his release earlier this year as a part of WWE’s clear-out of Triple H’s previous NXT regime. Whilst Sapolsky previously worked on the NXT brand, PWInsider where unable to clarify at the time whether he would be returning to WWE’s third brand of whether he’d be working on the main roster.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now shed some light on the situation, as he’s reporting that Sapolsky’s role is set to be a creative team consultant for the main roster.
“Gabe Sapolsky is back. He was another member of the Levesque team let go in the purge of NXT. His role is said to be as a creative team consultant for the main roster.”

During his absence from WWE, Sapolsky hosted multiple twitter spaces where he’d speak to a number of independent wrestling talents, and it now appears as though these spaces won’t be stopping anytime soon, as Sapolsky hosted yet another space last night that included the likes of Lince Dorado, KC Navarro, and more.
With WWE’s talent acquisition focus now back on the independent wrestling scene, as well as Mexico and Japan, many fans believe that these spaces will be utilised by Sapolsky as a method of scouting talent moving forward, although regardless of whether this is true or not, Sapolsky’s experience in a creative capacity will be invaluable to WWE as their new regime begins to find their feet.
