Giulia Wins The 5STAR, TJPW Wrestle Princess 3 Preview | Weekly Joshi Guide

After two months, the 5STAR is over and we crowned a new winner! The Leader of Donna del Mondo, Giulia finally got her revenge and defeated her rival Tam Nakano in the final to win the prestigious tournament. With her victory, she will challenge the current World Of STARDOM Champion Syuri on December 29th at the annual STARDOM Queendom Show in the Sumo Hall.

The Blue Stars Block was down to Suzu Suzuki vs Giulia after Momo Watanabe successfully spoiled Hazuki early in the show. Giulia just needed to gain One Point, while Suzu needed to beat Giulia to advance, but the match was far more than that. From the first moment Giuia walked down the ring it instantly got emotional. Giulia was in tears walking down the ramp and looking her former friend that she knew from Ice Ribbon right into the eyes. Suzu also couldn’t hold the tears back. Everything she worked for the last years, from her time in Ice Ribbon to coming to STARDOM was all about this moment. You can feel the emotions they were feeling at this moment.

The Bell rang and the two Women hit each other with everything they could offer. They threw Slaps, Suplexes, Headbutts and Suplexes at each other but neither stayed down. Not even Giulia’s Glorious Driver and Suzu’s Locomotive German Suplex could end the match. Both still hang in and all they were able to do were to throw the last hands at each other before the 15-minute time limit draw expired and no one was the winner. With the draw Giulia advanced to the final but that isn’t the end of her story with Suzu rather just the beginning of a bigger story.

The Red Stars Block was way closer on paper with Seven Wrestlers still in the race for the Block win but the field got smaller match after match. First Saki Kashima defeated AZM in a match that went under a minute to eliminate her and then Koguma got a big upset victory over the 2020 5STAR Winner Utami Hayashishita. The “Top Kawaii Of The Cosmos” Tam Nakanao was the first favorite to gain two Points in the Block with a decisive victory over SAKI. With that, Tam eliminated Himeka & Risa Sera from the Tournament. The next Match was between the MaiHime Tag Team Partners Maika & Himeka who delivered a great match against each other with a lot of lariats and big moves. In the end, the two friends fought to a double KO, which eliminated Maika from the tournament. In the last match of the Red Stars Block Group Stage the current World Of STARDOM Champion Syuri needed to win against her long time rival Risa Sera to advance to the final but Risa countered the submission of Syuri into a pinning predicament to get the three count over the Red Belt Champion and with that the final was made official. Giulia vs. Tam Nakano will decide the 5STAR GP.

One of the biggest rivalries in the last years of STARDOM went into another round. 18 months after their legendary Hair vs. Hair Match for the Wonder Of STARDOM Title they face each other again and since that match a lot changed. Giulia went on a downward spiral since the loss against Tam. From her losing her hair, to needed to give up the 5STAR last year due to a neck injury, losing the Red Belt Title match against Syuri, multiple Wrestlers leaving her own stable. Her last few months weren’t on the “Giulia level” we knew her from the White Belt reign and this match against Tam Nakano could change everything to the positive again.

The Match felt like the biggest Match of the Year when Giulia’s theme hit and comes out with a Star Power that you rarely see in wrestling. It was her time to finally come a step closer to her winning the World Of STARDOM Championship and between that and the goal of getting another Title Match there was one roadblock – beating Tam Nakano. At the same time Tam Nakano who failed to defeat Syuri twice in the last couple of months also wants another shot at the Title & Syuri. The match was unpredictable. Both of them were banged up from the tournament. The Match picked up where the All Star Dream Cinderella Match ended. The intensity was high and both wanted to win from the first minute. Giulia hit multiple headbutts and threw Tam on her head with Suplexes over and over again. Tam used Slaps, Suplexes and Knee Strikes at Giulia but nothing was able to end the match. The ending sequence of this match was outstanding. Tam picked up Giulia and hit her with the Glorious Driver but Giulia kicked out at one! Everyone was stunned, including the leader of Cosmic Angels. Giulia reversed that and hit Tam with the Violent Screwdriver that ended multiple matches in this 5STAR but also here Nakano kicked out at one! Giulia then hit the Glorious Driver but Tam once again barely kicked out and at that moment Giulia knew she got it in the bag. She didn’t waste any second and picked Tam up and finished her with the Nothern Lights Bomb to not only win the 5STAR but also is finally out of the downward spiral.

Giulia defeats Tam Nakano to win the 5STAR GP

Outside the 5STAR, STARDOM announced the upcoming line-up of the 12th Goddess Of STARDOM Tag League. 16 Teams will compete in two Blocks for a shot at Tam Nakano & Natsupoi for the Goddess Of STARDOM Titles. The Tournament will start on the 23rd October. The Blocks are following:

Like you might notice, Unagi Sayaka isn’t in the tournament. She posted a video on her YouTube channel where she pretty much said that she will go freelance for a few months but will stay a Cosmic Angel Member.

Also, STARDOM announced the line-up for the STARDOM side of the IWGP Women’s Tournament. STARS, Queen’s Quest, Donna del Mondo and Oedo Tai were able to choose one Member.

The First Round Matches for the October 22nd Korakuen Hall Show also got announced.

TJPW

The biggest event of the year for TJPW called “Wrestle Princess 3” will happen on Sunday, October 9th in the Tokyo Dome City Hall. The Card has nine matches on it and the fans are allowed to cheer! The Show has three title matches on it and is headlined by Shoko Nakajima trying to defend her Princess Of Princess Title against the Magical Girl Yuka Sakazaki.

Performer Of The Week

You can’t have a better week than Giulia. The Leader of Donna del Mondo was able to win the 5STAR GP 2022 with a win over her long time rival Tam Nakano. After she couldn’t finish last year’s tournament due to an injury, she was able to revenge herself with the win this year. With the victory, she was able to secure a World Of STARDOM Title Shot against her former ALK Tag Team Partner Syuri on December 29th.

Match Of The Week

The Match Of The Week also includes Giulia and it was the 5STAR Final against Tam Nakano. In a violent but also brutal match, Giulia & Tam threw everything at each other that they could. Everything those two did over the last year brought them to this. It was a perfect final to a great show and a great tournament and one of the best STARDOM matches of the year. Everyone should check that one out instantly
