AEW’s Andrade El Idolo recently sat down with Mas Lucha to discuss a number of topics, during which he called out Sammy Guevara for allegedly complaining to management that Andrade hit him too hard. Guevara then responded to Andrade’s comments on twitter, prompting a follow up tweet from Andrade where the former NXT Champion claimed he wasn’t afraid of being fired by the company.
Things now appear to have escalated ahead of tonight’s AEW Dynamite, as TMZ are reporting that the pair got into an altercation backstage, resulting in both men being sent home.
“AEW stars Sammy Guevara and Andrade were just involved in a backstage altercation, sources tells TMZ Sports, and Andrade has been sent home.”

The incident that TMZ claims to have happened at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington D.C. ahead of tonight’s show, allegedly began with words being exchanged between the two men, before things ultimately became physical. Guevara is said to have pushed Andrade, and it is also believed that punches were thrown, although it is unclear whether anyone was hit.
TMZ noted that their sources are adamant that this developing situation is not a part of a storyline for AEW TV, and additionally stated that several wrestlers are pissed at Sammy for publicly airing personal/private issues, resulting in things just boiling over at the arena.
Guevara was originally scheduled to appear on tonight’s show in the main event, where he was set to team with Chris Jericho to take on the team of Daniel Garcia and Bryan Danielson, however it now appears as though this will no longer go ahead.
