Scott D’Amore made an attempt to purchase TNA before being fired.

On February 7th, Anthem Sports & Entertainment announced that TNA President Scott D’Amore’s contract had been terminated with immediate effect. Following this announcement, reports emerged suggesting that D’Amore had made an attempt to purchase the promotion, and we now have more information on his offer along with Anthem’s response.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that sources close to the negotiation said that a group led by D’Amore offered to purchase TNA for $10 million, with one source adding that D’Amore’s group also offered to assume all existing debts the company had as well as the trade debts.

“Regarding the attempt by a group headed by Scott D’Amore to purchase the company, two sources close to the negotiations and one involved said the offer was $10 million for the company. One noted for clarity that it was $10 million plus assuming all existing debts the company had as well as the trade debts, so that Anthem itself would walk away with $10 million in the bank out of the deal. The D’Amore group believed the company value was between $7 million and $12 million.”

Anthem turned down DAmore’s offer, although PWInsider had previously noted that the company at least considered the offer before declining.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of both Scott D’Amore and TNA following his exit as soon as we hear more.
