HANGMAN ADAM PAGE IN-RING PROMO:

Adam Page made his way out to the ring while holding a crutch. A somber Page began to talk about AEW and his big accomplishment of winning the world title in 2021. He aired his grievance about the world title being defended in a three-way match at Revolution, however, he admitted that it seems that’s going to happen, but with the wrong two participants. Swerve Strickland interrupted and made his way to the ring. Strickland seemed to be empathetic to Page’s situation. However, Strickland mentioned how it is his destiny to become the world champion. The AEW world champion then interrupted the bitter rivals. Samoa Joe ran down his opponents and vowed to walk out champion at the pay-per-view whether it’s a singles match or a three-way match. A livid Strickland made it clear that he is willing to do anything to walk out as champion. Page had heard enough and decided to attack Strickland with his crutch. Page wasn’t wearing a salmon jacket but he managed to fool Strickland and take advantage of the situation perfectly.

YOUNG BUCKS ARRIVE TO THE ARENA:

The Young Bucks walked into the arena and were met by Renee Paquette. The Bucks were asked about their meeting with Ric Flair, Nicholas replied that it went great without revealing any details. Matthew then asked if Sting had come to the arena yet because the Bucks would like to conduct his exit interview, he said as he revealed a bat.

BLACKPOOL COMBAT CLUB DEFEATS FTR & EDDIE KINGSTON

The match started off as expected with heavy hitters on each side of the ring. However, it didn’t take long for chaos to ensue as Cash Wheeler and Jon Moxley went blow for blow until their respective teammates got involved. Once that happened it was complete pandemonium on the outside from all six competitors. Later in the match, the crowd got fired up as Kingston and Danielson both went chop for chop. Kingston managed to take out Danielson and Castagnoli, before Moxley entered the fray. Moxley got the upper hand on Kingston, and that gave the opportunity for the rest of the BCC to execute their offense on Kingston. The BCC eventually had all their opponents in submission holds, but FTR and Kingston managed to escape. The BCC were all met by chops in the corner simultaneously. In the closing stretch, Danielson hit the busaiku knee but instead of going for the pin, he instead decided to kick Kingston’s head in, put him in a triangle chokehold, and have Kingston pass out for the victory.

CHRIS JERICHO BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW

Footage was played from 30 years ago in CMLL as Chris Jericho teamed with the legendary Atlantis. Backstage, Jericho mentioned that he had some great mentors from his early days in Mexico, with one of them being Atlantis. Tonight he repays the favor as he faces off against his son, Atlantis Jr. It’s the return of El Corazon De Lion, also known as the Lionheart.

WILL OSPREAY IN RING INTERVIEW

Will Ospreay came out smiling from ear to ear, clearly excited to be starting the next chapter in his career. Ospreay talked about his accomplishments already in AEW which includes defeating Orange Cassidy, Kenny Omega, and Chris Jericho on pay-per-view. The Don Callis family then came out. Ospreay embraced Callis and Powerhouse Hobbs but did not shake hands with his Revolution opponent, Konosuke Takeshita. Callis talked about how the Don Callis family is the biggest winner as Takeshita and Ospreay are set to have a classic. The two then shook hands with each wrestler pulling the other back as the tension was very clear

EDDIE KINGSTON BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW

Eddie Kingston was asked about the disrespect shown by Bryan Danielson in the earlier match, however the interview was quickly interrupted by the Young Bucks. Nicholas threatened to give Kingston a fine if he continued to talk crap. Matthew then advised Kingston to be more professional and not come to work in timberlands and sweat pants. Matthew even suggested implementing a dress code for the talent.

ORANGE CASSIDY (c) DEFEATS NICK WAYNE (AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP):

The early stages of this match had a lot of involvement from the Patriarchy at ringside, which prompted Bryce Remsburg to throw them out and send them to the back. The match was well worked with the two wrestlers having some decent exchanges. The Undisputed Kingdom came out but were quickly met by Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero. While this was going on, Nick Wayne managed to take off the turnbuckle pad, but Daniel Garcia came out to distract Wayne. Cassidy took advantage and executed an orange punch for the victory. However, Roderick Strong came out right after the match to attack Cassidy before he retreated. Cassidy and Strong are set to face off the International title at Revolution, this Sunday.

BANG BANG SCISSOR GANG BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW:

Jay White spoke about the team’s victory from Collision last week. Austin Gunn suggested that this week The Acclaimed team with Austin Gunn for a trios match. Anthony Bowens disagreed then suggested the same trio and the whole team agreed, continuing this running bit on Austin.

SKYE BLUE DEFEATS KRIS STATLANDER

Skye Blue started the match all guns blazing with the immediate run attack on Statlander. The energy of the match stayed high as the two fought onto the outside. Statlander pulled off an impressive gorilla press and threw Blue into the audience in the front row. Later, Statlander pulled out a german suplex on the apron. Julia Hart was going to get involved on the outside but she was met with Willow Nightingale. In the closing stretch, Stokely Hathaway offered a steel chain to Statlander but Rick Knox saw what was going down which gave Hart the opportunity to interfere and hit Statlander with the TBS title. Blue then hit the code blue and stole the victory.

YOUNG BUCKS BACKSTAGE:

The Young Bucks finally found Sting’s locker room. The duo barged in and found multiple baseball bats being hung up. Sting is clearly paying mind games with the Young Bucks. The segment ended as Matthew was looking at a mirror placed in the locker room.

CHRIS JERICHO DEFEATS ATLANTIS JR.:

The AEW-CMLL partnership is going strong as it’s another week with a CMLL star featured on AEW television. Early in the match, Jericho attempted to take Atlantis Jr’s mask off despite speaking about the respect for his father earlier in the night. Atlantis Sr then got involved as he was choking Jericho with his towel. The two had a well worked match with Atlantis Jr looking very impressive. Jericho managed to lock in the Walls of Jericho at the end, Atlantis almost got to the rope bur Jericho pulled him forward at the last second. Atlantis Sr ended up throwing in the towel which gave Jericho the victory. The match was enjoyable and most of all, it was good seeing Jericho outside of the Don Callis-verse. After the match it was announced that Jericho would be apart of an 8-man All Star scramble that is replacing the original “Meat Madness” match that was going to take place at Revolution. Alongside Jericho it will be Hobbs, Hook, Lance Archer, Wardlow, Brian Cage, and two others that will be determined by qualifying matches this week.

YOUNG BUCKS, DARBY ALLIN, RIC FLAIR & STING LIVE SEGMENT:

The Young Bucks made their way to ringside. Fans in the front row were wearing Sting masks. The Bucks began to take the masks off the audience members, with one of the audience members being Darby Allin who quickly attacked. However, the duo was just too much for him. The Bucks beat down Allin and pulled off an EVP trigger on him. Ric Flair then came out to the ring, looking like he was going to help the Bucks, instead Flair gingerly attacked the Bucks before getting low blowed by Nicholas. Sting’s music then hit. The Bucks went up the ramp to meet Sting but instead Sting came down from the rafters, reminiscent to his WCW days. Sting and Allin attacked the Young Bucks and were left standing tall ahead of the huge matchup at Revolution.
