On April 8th earlier this year, WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc. agreed to a merger, with the multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate now officially operating as WarnerBros. Discovery. News of the merger initially alarmed many fans of All Elite Wrestling as WarnerMedia’s TNT and TBS channels are home to AEW Rampage and Dynamite respectively, and thus with Discovery, Inc. now also having a say in what the company present on their programming, some feared that there may be a reduction in the amount of AEW content presented by the conglomerate.

These fears have since been squashed entirely however, as multiple reports have recently emerged revealing that WarnerBros. Discovery are more than happy with AEW, and even hope to increase their content output, although their desired focus for such content was reported to be non-in-ring.

Fightful Select have now provided an update on said AEW content coming soon to WarnerBros. Discovery, revealing that a behind the scenes documentary is in the works, with filming set to begin next month.

“AEW talent and staff were informed this past week that AEW set to produce a documentary show that will focus on the behind the scenes aspect of a group of All Elite Wrestling talent. We’re told that talent were given the option to not be involved in the documentary. Filming is set to start in November at the Baltimore AEW Dynamite, and run six weeks through the AEW tapings in Garland, Texas on December 14.”

AEW President Tony Khan is reportedly set to serve as an executive producer for the documentary, with Executive Producer of Shed Media Sam Berns also noted as being a part of the project. Fightful stated that WarnerBros. Discovery and Shed Media will be collaborating on the upcoming documentary, the latter having previously worked on shows such as The Real Houswives series, as well as former AEW EVP Cody Rhodes’ reality show Rhodes To The Top.

Those that spoke to Fightful claimed that the documentary is set to air in 2023, although a specific time frame is unlikely to be revealed until the documentary itself is made official by the company. As always, we’ll aim to provide any updates on the status of AEW’s latest project as soon as we hear more.
