Colt Cabana is believed to now be remaining on Wednesday nights in a new role for AEW.
Following this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, both Fightful Select and PWInsider reported that Colt Cabana was backstage and was believed to be working as a producer/coach.
PWInsider have no followed up on this report, revealing that Cabana is set to remain on Wednesday nights to help with Dynamite and Rampage tapings moving forward.
“Colt Cabana has been 100% moved to Wednesdays as a Coach/Producer going forward.”
-PWInsider
Cabana has been absent from AEW television since his loss to Chris Jericho on the Novermber 2nd, 2022 edition of Dynamite, a bout that reportedly heightened tensions between CM Punk and The Elite leading up to the infamous ‘Brawl Out’ incident.
As of writing, it hasn’t been specified that the move to keep Cabana on Wednesday nights had anything to do with CM Punk being a mainstay on Collision, however given the tumultuous history between, its likely that this was considered by the company.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Colt Cabana’s AEW return and new role on Wednesday nights as soon as we hear more.
