AJ Styles: Kendal Grey Is The Chad Gable Of WWE’s Women’s Division

AJ Styles compares Kendal Grey to Chad Gable.

In recent months, Kendal Grey has been a standout on NXT. Although she’s yet to win gold on the brand, the 25-year-old has used her background in amateur wrestling to capture the imagination of fans with her technical ability on Tuesday nights, making Grey one of the most talked about prospects in WWE. Now, AJ Styles has drawn comparisons between Kendal and a main roster star.

Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles said Kendal Grey is like the Chad Gable of the women’s division.

“I was thinking about how good she was and how to describe her. She’s the Chad Gable of women. She was a wrestler. I believe that was her background, it was a wrestler. The way she moves, I was like, ‘Dude, that’s like Chad Gable stuff.’ The only reason why I’m not comparing her and Chad to Kurt Angle because Chad Gable’s our Kurt Angle. It’s the same. I’ve wrestled both of them and I can tell you it’s exactly the same. They have scary motors on them. They don’t get tired. The way that they move is just so fluid and I think Kendal has that same kind of movement to her.”

Up next for Grey, she’ll look to finally get her hands on the NXT Women’s Championship at The Great American Bash after missing out at Stand And Deliver. The up-and-coming star will get her one on one shot at Lola Vice in just eight days, and many fans will be hoping she will soon be able to call herself champion.

As for Chad Gable, Styles also recently commented on the former El Grande Americano’s momentum heading out of the mask vs. mask match at the end of May, saying WWE would be dumb not to capitalise. You can read more on that here.
