AJ Styles has been absent from WWE TV for the entirety of 2023 thus far, having suffered a broken ankle in December during a six-man tag team match alongside The Good Brothers at a live event, resulting in the former WWE Champion missing the company’s most important time of the year.
PWInsider have now provided an update on AJ Styles’ absence, noting that he’s simply waiting to be cleared so he can return to the ring, although he’s yet to be spotted at the Performance Center.
“We’ve been asked a lot about AJ Styles. He was not around Wrestlemania weekend and we are told it’s just a matter of him being cleared to return from the broken ankle he suffered in December and being ready to perform. We haven’t heard he’s been at the WWE Performance Center or anywhere else on the road for the company.”

Styles took to Twitter after suffering the injury to confirm that he wouldn’t need surgery on his ankle and instead would just need to take some time off to recover.
