Alexa Bliss Reveals She Didn’t Know About WWE Money In The Bank Cash-In Until Winning Briefcase

Alexa Bliss’ 2018 Money In The Bank cash-in was a surprise to her
Whenever WWE Money in the Bank takes place, the most intriguing matches are the titular ladder matches. 2018 was no different, with the women’s match set to see the second-ever Ms. Money in the Bank crowned.
In a stacked field including the likes of Charlotte Flair, Ember Moon, & Sasha Banks, it was Alexa Bliss who came out victorious. Bliss’ recent loss of the Raw Women’s Championship may have made this a surprising result at the time, though the surprises weren’t over. The semi-main event saw Ronda Rousey challenge champion Nia Jax for the belt, only for Alexa Bliss to interfere, cost Rousey the match, and pin an injured Jax. As it turns out, this turn of events was a surprise to Bliss too.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Alexa Bliss shared how truly last-minute she was informed of these plans:
“My friend Erin was there because it was in Chicago. We got to hang out and it was fun, and I thought we were leaving. I was like, ‘Great, the show is almost over.’ I’m getting ready to wipe my makeup off and they’re like, ‘Oh, no no. You’re cashing in.’ I was like, ‘What? Okay.’
Nia [Jax] had the match with Ronda [Rousey], so it was my first time ever interacting with Ronda, too. It was a really cool moment.”
