WWE Discussing Whether to Still Hold Crown Jewel Event In Riyadh Next Month

Crown Jewel

New events in Riyadh are making WWE question whether their next Crown Jewel event will go forward.

WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia has been controversial in one fashion or another, but in 2026, and possibly 2027, the biggest issue isn’t fan perception, but the safety of the wrestlers who would be going to the event to wrestle. In a new report from the Wrestling Observer, Bryan Alvarez noted that recent turmoil in Riyadh is getting WWE people to talk about whether the event can take place next month:

“Whether or not WWE runs Saudi in November was a big topic of conversation in WWE today.”

For those unaware, a key airport in Riyadh was attacked, and lives were lost. Due to this, a warning of “heightened vigilance” was issued by the US embassy in the area, and warnings of “potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions” were given.

Any one of those things could disrupt plans for the event. It’s been said that backup locations for both this show and the upcoming WrestleMania in Riyadh are planned, but nothing definitive has been given yet as to whether such a shift will happen.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on the circumstances surrounding Crown Jewel, and whether a change happens before November 7th.
