Andrade El Idolo Reportedly Set To Return To AEW Next Week

Andrade is reportedly returning to AEW imminently despite speculation he may be hurt.

At AEW Grand Slam: Mexico last Wednesday, Andrade won a triple threat match to secure first entry in the upcoming Casino Gauntlet at All In: London. Post-match he was attacked by MJF, furthering the rivalry between them heading into Wembley Stadium. However, when a sofial media post by Andrade suggesting he “hadn’t been feeling well” and may be “out of action” for days or weeks, fans were les to wonder if he was injured. Now, an update has emerged on his current status.

According to an update from Fightful Select, it’s believed Andrade is healthy and expected to return to AEW next week.

“Andrade was featured on last week’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Mexico, where he was attacked by MJF. Andrade worked additional events after that, but revealed on social media that he wasn’t feeling well, leading to natural speculation that he may have sustained an injury. It was fueled by MJF also saying that he was the cause. Fightful Select has learned that Andrade is fine, and that this was actually a scheduled week off for him. He’s expected to be back on TV the following week and the angle with MJF and for AEW All In is still on.”

This will come as good news to fans, with Andrade one of the more popular figures on AEW’s roster today. Following his victory at Arena Mexico, we know the star will have the number one spot in the Casino Gauntlet, and, this week, viewers will find out who the second entrant will be. On tonight’s Dynamite, Mike Bailey, Nick Wayne, and Andrade’s rival MJF will all do battle to punch their ticket to Wembley.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Jericho will challenge Kevin Knight for the TNT Championship, while David Finlay battles Jay White in the Continental Cup first round, and current champion Jon Moxley begins his cup campaign against Jack Perry.
