The recently absent from AEW, Andrade El Idolo, has spoken his mind on a few subjects ahead of the premiere of All Elite Wrestling’s Collision debut.

Andrade, who was recently announced as one of the faces to be filling out the ranks of the soon-to-debut show, has been absent from in-ring action since September of last year, during which numerous reports revealed he’d been involved in an altercation with Sammy Guevara, with the situation likely further extending his absence from TV.

El Idolo was a recent guest on the Please Steal Our Ideas podcast, where he would go on to admit he hopes that a clear divide exists between Collision and Dynamite, hoping that new titles could be introduced as well.

“I don’t know yet, but I hope [the shows will be] separate. I hope [they] make a new title. Maybe separate the brands like it’s another company. I hope that Dynamite, the roster, and the talent — Collision, this new brand for AEW, I wish [for the shows to be] separate. I don’t know yet.”

Andrade would then elaborate on why he feels the addition of new titles is a good idea for the new weekly television product, stating that it’s good for each brand to have their own set of goals.

“I wish. I hope so, too because this is a new brand. We need new goals. If we have different titles, it’s good because you can compete for the title.”

Continuing, Andrade highlights the potential benefit that Collision could provide in terms of increasing opportunities for AEW’s stacked roster, before circling back to his desire to new titles to be created.

“I think it’s good. I love the idea because this is more opportunities for the roster, more storylines for the titles. I think maybe in the future, or maybe soon, [new titles] is a good idea. I hope the office or the writers [will hear this]. Yeah, 100%. We need a new title.”

Tony Khan stated recently that he is yet to draw specific lines for an AEW roster split. You can read Wrestle Purists’ coverage of that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AEW Collision and the show’s potential implications for the AEW roster as soon as we hear more.
