Anthony Bowen’s AEW Contract Reportedly Due To Expire In October 2026
Anthony Bowens’ AEW contract is set to expire in a month’s time.
Back in November 2020, Anthony Bowens put pen to paper with All Elite Wrestling alongside Max Caster as The Acclaimed. Since then, Bowens has found success in tag team and trios competition and has now established himself as a singles competitor, though his future with the promotion may lie elsewhere.
According to Fightful Select, Anthony Bowens’ AEW contract is currently set to expire on October 1, though it remains unclear whether renewal talks have taken place.
“Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed that Anthony Bowens’ AEW contract is currently set to expire on October 1. As of now, the deal has not been extended and we’ve not yet learned if those talks have started.”

Fightful also recently reported that Bowens’ former tag team partner, Max Caster, is set to see his AEW contract expire on October 1. During their time together as The Acclaimed, the duo won the AEW World Tag Team Championship before capturing the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Billy Gunn at AEW All In: London 2023 at Wembley Stadium.
Bowens has been a member of The Opps throughout 2026, with the former AEW World Tag Team Champion recently competing on the All In: London 2026 Buy-In. He teamed with his fellow members of The Opps in an eight-man tag team match, but the group suffered defeat against Lio Rush and The Rascalz.
In 2019, Fightful published a long-form feature on Bowens, which revealed that WWE had originally planned to sign him. However, someone involved in the process reportedly failed to show up, and Bowens ultimately signed with AEW instead.
It remains to be seen whether WWE would still have interest in Bowens if and when he becomes a free agent in October 2026, particularly if he enters the market alongside Max Caster. Nevertheless, should neither man re-sign with AEW, it appears possible that The Acclaimed could reunite once again.
