The Damage CTRL member could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

This past Friday’s episode of SmackDown saw Bayley defeat Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai via DQ after her fellow stablemates IYO SKY, Asuka, and Kairi Sane interfered.

Whilst Damage CTRL ended the night standing tall, they didn’t escape unscathed, as PWInsider are now reporting that Asuka suffered a new injury during the show that will require further examination to determine its severity.

“WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka hurt her knee during this past Friday’s WWE Smackdown broadcast, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. We are told Asuka was pulled from the weekend live events out of caution and so that medical test could be done to confirm whether it was something Asuka could work through or whether she had a larger injury.”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear as to how long Asuka could be out of action for, however with WrestleMania just weeks away, fans will be hopeful that she’ll be able to defend her WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Kairi Sane at the event.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Asuka’s injury status as soon as we hear more, and we wish her all the best in her recovery.
